Where we actually are
East Northport is a hamlet and census-designated place in the Town of Huntington, Suffolk County. It is unincorporated, ZIP 11731, with a population of 20,048 at the 2020 census across about five square miles. It is bordered by Northport to the north, Commack to the south, Greenlawn to the west and Fort Salonga to the east.
The Town of Huntington and the Town of Smithtown share a line, and that line runs through communities rather than neatly around them. Commack sits on both sides of it — the town boundary is Townline Road, so two Commack neighbors on opposite sides of that road are in different towns. Fort Salonga is divided as well: the Kings Park school district picks up the Smithtown-side portion, with Bread and Cheese Hollow Road as the dividing line.
That is the practical reason a Smithtown-area search returns such a scattered set of results. Municipal boundaries here do not match mailing addresses, and they do not match school districts either, so "in Smithtown" and "near you" are not the same statement.
Town lines decide your permits and your school district. They have nothing to do with booking a groom.
So here is the straight version. If you are close to the Commack area or the Fort Salonga side, we are an easy option. If you are at the far end of the Town of Smithtown, there is very likely a groomer closer to you, and we would rather say that than have you drive out and feel misled. Caleb Smith State Park Preserve in Smithtown does not allow pets at all — it is a passive preserve where dogs, bikes and picnics are all prohibited. And the Town of Huntington's off-leash dog run at 106 Deposit Road, East Northport requires a Town-issued permit that is only available to Huntington residents with a licensed, rabies-current dog. Neither has anything to do with grooming. Both save someone a wasted trip.

If you are not sure which service you want: a bath and brush is the right call when you are happy with your dog's current coat length and just want them clean and properly dried out. A full groom is for when the length actually needs to come down.
A coat that has tightened into mats since the last appointment is a different job, and brushing it out can be genuinely painful for the dog. If we find matting that cannot be worked out safely, we will talk to you before we go any further. The humane answer is often a shorter cut than the one you had in mind — not an hour of pulling on the skin.

The East Northport location does one thing. It is a grooming salon — there is no daycare, no overnight boarding and no retail shop here. If you are searching because you need your dog looked after for a working day or a week away, this is not the right address, and it is better you know that now than after the drive.
