This Terms of Service agreement ("Terms") governs the grooming services provided by Lillian Ruff Pet Spa, located at 835 Portion Rd, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779. Throughout this document, the terms "we", "us", and "our" refer to Lillian Ruff Pet Spa. By engaging our grooming services, you, the pet owner ("you" or "client"), agree to be bound by these Terms, including any additional policies referenced herein.
These Terms apply to all clients who bring their pets to Lillian Ruff Pet Spa for grooming services. Please read these Terms carefully before scheduling or bringing your pet for a grooming appointment. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our grooming services.
We reserve the right to update, change, or replace any part of these Terms by posting updates on our website at lillianruffpetspa.com. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of our services following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
We reserve the right to refuse service to any client or pet for any reason at any time, including but not limited to the pet's health, behavior, or the client's failure to comply with these Terms.
You agree not to hold Lillian Ruff Pet Spa responsible for any pre-existing conditions, whether known or unknown, that may affect your pet during or after the grooming process, except as expressly stated in these Terms.
The headings used in this agreement are included for convenience only and will not limit or otherwise affect these Terms.
Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, particularly for senior pets or pets with health problems. Such stress can expose hidden medical issues or aggravate existing conditions during or after the grooming session. In the best interest of your pet, by agreeing to these Terms, you grant Lillian Ruff Pet Spa permission to obtain immediate veterinary treatment for your pet if we deem it necessary during the grooming process. We will make every effort to contact you first and take your pet to your authorized veterinarian, or to the nearest available veterinarian if yours is unavailable. You agree that all expenses for veterinary care will be your responsibility and will be covered by you, the pet owner.
Pets with matted coats require extra attention during grooming. Mats that are left in a pet's coat can tighten over time, potentially strangling the pet's skin or causing it to tear open. At Lillian Ruff Pet Spa, we prioritize your pet's comfort and will not continuously demat a pet if it causes serious or undue stress. Mats can be very difficult to remove and may require shaving the pet. Removing a heavily matted coat carries risks, including nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to warts, moles, or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet's skin, leading to mold, fungus, or bacterial growth, which may cause skin irritations that predate the grooming process. In severe cases, torn skin from mats can harbor maggots.
After-effects of mat removal may include itchiness, hematomas, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, and failure of the hair to regrow. Shaved pets are also prone to sunburn and should have sunscreen applied daily or be kept out of the sun until the hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin. In some cases, pets may exhibit brief behavioral changes following mat removal.
Prevention is the best defense against matting. We strongly recommend scheduling regular grooming appointments to maintain your pet's coat. Lillian Ruff Pet Spa will not be held responsible for any injuries or after-effects resulting from mat removal, including those listed above.
While we use extreme caution and care in all grooming situations, there is always a possibility that an accident may occur. Grooming equipment is sharp, and possible issues such as cuts, nicks, scratches, or quicking of nails may happen, especially with an excited or uncooperative pet. We make every effort to ensure your pet is groomed as safely as possible, but an excited pet can be dangerous to work with. By agreeing to these Terms, you acknowledge these risks and agree that Lillian Ruff Pet Spa will not be held liable for such accidents, provided we have exercised reasonable care.
If you suspect your pet has fleas or ticks, you must take prompt and thorough action to address the issue. Flea infestations can lead to tapeworms and other health problems for your pet. If fleas or ticks are discovered during the grooming process, your pet will be treated with a natural product to kill the parasites, and you will be charged for the use of flea shampoo. Please note that Lillian Ruff Pet Spa does not use pesticide dips or sprays on pets. Ticks will be removed for an additional charge. If ticks are found, we strongly recommend having your pet tested for Lyme Disease, as parasites pose a health hazard to both your pet and humans. You agree to cover any additional charges for parasite treatment as outlined.
By agreeing to these Terms, you (or your authorized agent) agree to hold Lillian Ruff Pet Spa, its owners, operators, employees, officers, and directors harmless from any damage, loss, or claim arising from any condition of your pet, whether known or unknown to Lillian Ruff Pet Spa. You further agree that the terms of this agreement may change at any time without notice, and any updated terms will supersede all prior agreements or releases. This clause applies to any and all pets groomed at Lillian Ruff Pet Spa.
If your pet is not picked up within 30 minutes of your assigned pick-up time, a late fee of $5 will be applied for every 15 minutes thereafter. If your pet is not picked up by the salon's closing time for the day, you will be charged an $85.00 kennel fee. You agree to pay any applicable late pick-up fees as outlined.
If you arrive 30 minutes or more late for your scheduled drop-off time, we may either charge a late fee or be unable to accommodate your appointment. You agree to adhere to your scheduled drop-off time and to pay any applicable late fees if assessed.
No-shows and last-minute cancellations are subject to a fee of 50% of the full service fee per pet. If you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment, you will be charged this fee. We understand that emergency situations may arise, and we will work with you on a case-by-case basis, but repeated cancellations or no-shows will not be accommodated. As a by-appointment business, we rely on timely cancellations to offer slots to other clients. Cancellations must be made by calling or texting through MoeGo; we do not accept cancellations via email. You agree to adhere to our cancellation policy and pay any applicable fees for no-shows or late cancellations.
Lillian Ruff Pet Spa operates as a by-appointment business, and our schedules are created based on the specific details provided for each pet, including breed, weight, and the type of service requested.
Weight Accuracy: We schedule appointments based on the weight you provide for your pet. For example, a 60 lbs. dog requires a different time slot than an 80 lbs. dog. If you provide incorrect weight information by 15 lbs. or more, you will be charged an additional fee, as this impacts our scheduling and affects other clients. We do not accept dogs over 145 lbs., and you must inform us if your dog is 100 lbs. or over before booking or include this information in the notes when you book.
Service Accuracy: Our scheduling also depends on the type of service booked. For example, a bath and brush appointment takes less time than a full-service groom. If you book a bath and brush but request a full service upon arrival, your request may be denied due to time constraints. If you book a full service but request a bath and brush upon arrival, you will be charged a fee, as we reserved a longer time slot for the full service, which could have been used for another client. Please ensure you book the correct service to avoid delays or additional fees. You agree to provide accurate information about your pet's weight and the requested service when booking, and to pay any applicable fees if incorrect information causes scheduling disruptions.
You are responsible for ensuring your pet is in a suitable condition for grooming, including being free of excessive matting, parasites, or health issues that may complicate the grooming process. You must inform us of any known health or behavioral issues that may affect the grooming process, such as aggression, anxiety, or medical conditions. Failure to disclose such information may result in additional fees or refusal of service, and you agree that Lillian Ruff Pet Spa will not be held liable for any issues arising from undisclosed conditions.
We do not guarantee that the grooming process will be stress-free for your pet, as each pet reacts differently to grooming. We will make every effort to groom your pet safely and comfortably, but you acknowledge that grooming involves inherent risks, as outlined in these Terms (e.g., mat removal, accidents, health issues).
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lillian Ruff Pet Spa, its owners, operators, employees, officers, and directors will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages arising from the grooming services, including but not limited to injuries to your pet, behavioral changes, or after-effects of grooming procedures, provided we have exercised reasonable care. Our liability, if any, shall be limited to the cost of the grooming service provided.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Lillian Ruff Pet Spa, its owners, operators, employees, officers, and directors from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of your breach of these Terms, your pet's condition or behavior, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, such provision shall nonetheless be enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and the unenforceable portion shall be deemed severed from these Terms. Such determination shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any other remaining provisions.
These Terms are effective unless and until terminated by either you or us. You may terminate these Terms at any time by notifying us that you no longer wish to use our services. We may terminate these Terms and deny you access to our services at any time without notice if, in our sole judgment, you fail to comply with any provision of these Terms. Obligations and liabilities incurred prior to termination, including payment of any fees, shall survive termination.
These Terms, along with any policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lillian Ruff Pet Spa regarding our grooming services, superseding any prior agreements or understandings, whether oral or written. Any ambiguities in the interpretation of these Terms shall not be construed against the drafting party.
These Terms and any disputes arising from our grooming services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
You can review the most current version of these Terms at any time on this page. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to update, change, or replace any part of these Terms by posting updates on our website. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes. Your continued use of our services following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
