The Best Dog Grooming Salons on Long Island, NY (2026 Guide)

Long Island has hundreds of dog groomers, and most of them are good. The hard part isn’t finding one. It’s working out, before you hand over your dog, what a place actually does, when it’s open, and roughly what it will cost.
That turns out to be surprisingly hard. We checked 30 salons across Suffolk and Nassau against their own websites and booking systems. Of the 18 that made this guide, only 7 let you book online and only 3 publish any pricing at all. For everyone else, finding out costs a phone call during working hours.

On things you can verify yourself from a business’s own website — not on opinion.
None of that measures how good a haircut is. A brilliant groomer can work out of a one-room shop that takes cash and answers the phone at 4pm — several on this list do exactly that. What these criteria measure is how easy a salon is to actually use, which is the part you can check before you go.

If you only need one answer
What we couldn’t tell you
We removed every star rating. We had them, and we cut them after finding a directory that gave two completely unrelated businesses the identical score and review count. A rating you can’t trace is worse than no rating at all.
Almost nobody publishes prices. Most salons here ask you to call. That’s a perfectly normal way to run a grooming business — coat condition genuinely changes the job — but it does mean that comparing cost means comparing phone calls.
Hours change. One salon publishes two conflicting sets of hours across its own listings, and another shows a notice that it isn’t taking new grooming appointments. Everything here was checked in August 2026. Ring ahead.
